Healing Male also helps in maintaining good health, in the formation of red blood cells, and maintaining healthy skin, as well as supporting immune function. It also adds effective antioxidant action and aids the body in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
The herb Saw Palmetto may help as an anti-estrogenic agent, maintaining testosterone levels, and is also beneficial for the prostate.
Stinging Nettle Extract: Traditionally used as a diuretic and laxative. Extracts of stinging nettle have shown to be effective in treating diarrhea and urinary disorders, as well as prostate diseases. Studies show benefits in benign prostatic hyperplasia when treated with Stinging Nettle. Combining Stinging Nettle Extract with Saw Palmetto and Pygeum Bark Extract enhances the effectiveness of each herb.
Lycopene: This phyto-nutrient is found in many red fruits and vegetables, particularly tomatoes, and has powerful antioxidant properties. Several studies have sought to analyze the anti-cancer properties of lycopene. Although research is insufficient at this time, evidence for lycopene?s benefit was strongest for cancers of the lung, stomach, and prostate gland.
Zinc (Zinc Picolinate): Zinc is an essential trace mineral, which is second only to iron as the most plentiful trace element in the body.ÿ It aids in the absorption of B vitamins, and is a constituent of at least 25 enzyme systems, as well as being a component of insulin and of superoxide dismutase. Zinc is essential for growth and development of sexual organs, is important in nucleic acid synthesis and plays a role in carbohydrate and phosphorus metabolism. We use Zinc Picolinate, to assure maximum absorption.
Copper (Cupric Citrate): Copper plays a role in the bodys anti-inflammatory response and the development and maintenance of skin and connective tissues. Copper facilitates the activity of several copper dependant enzymes and physiological processes within the body, and is also essential for physiological processes such as the synthesis of phospholipids, which are a component of the myelin sheath that surrounds nerves. An effective bactericide, copper inhibits the replication of viruses, and is commonly used in piping for drinking water due to the inability of bacteria and viruses to replicate in its presence.
Vitamin E (d-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate): An indispensable part of the body’s antioxidant ability, Vitamin E promotes heart and respiratory health, supports circulation and brain function, and is essential to life. Alpha Tocopheryl is the form preferentially absorbed by the body. Vitamin E has a long list of benefits to the body and is found naturally in vegetable oils, nuts and seeds, particularly wheat germ and sunflower seed oils.
Selenium: Selenium has been receiving huge attention in recent times due to its perceived potential in combating cancer. A five year study carried out at Cornell University and the University of Arizona, and it has shown that Selenium supplementation reduced incidences of prostate, colorectal, and lung cancers, as well as a significant reduction in overall cancer deaths.
Curcumin (from Curcuma Longa Rhizomes): Curcumin is the active ingredient found in Curcuma Longa, or Turmeric, commonly used as a spice in curry dishes and as a substitute for saffron in Europe. Research on Curcuma has been focused on its applicability in cases of Alzheimer’s, Arthritis, Cancer and Diabetes. In laboratory experiments on rodents, Curcuma was found to suppress arthritic inflammation, induce apoptosis (cell death) in some cancer types and improve insulin sensitivity. Human trials of Curcuma for some illnesses are underway.
Pygeum Bark Extract: So prized is the bark of the Pygeum tree, also known as the African Plum, that it is literally becoming an endangered species in its native Africa. For centuries, it has been used in African medicine for treating inflammatory urinary tract disorders, such as cystitis and prostatitis, and has been shown to be effective in recent studies. The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Institute notes that phytosterols in pygeum inhibit the body’s production of prostaglandins, chemicals involved in inflammation.
